My least favorite thing in the world is leaving a negative review on someone's hard work. But, this isn't for the author or about the author. This review is for the readers and is my personal opinion. I mean no harm with my words, I'm simply stating my observations.Sometimes when I read, it's hard to turn off my writer brain, so I notice a lot more than the average Joe. Grammar, writing structure, character voices, ect.My LEAST favorite thing in stories is info dumping. Meaning, long paragraphs of information giving all at once, instead of sprinkled periodically in the text. Unfortunately,that's all this book was and it confused me to no end. Like really confused me. There was so much information about the world Gabrielle(or Gabriella?? each name was used for her btw, So I'm not sure which is supposed to be her name. I assume Gabrielle, because after a certain point, everyone calls her that. I don't know.) Anywho, the world she's thrust into is complex and weird. And instead of showing us the world....it's word vomited out.I think part of my problem was the FMC didn't have a personality. Or if she did, it was nothing but being whiny and crying. The guys were....I didn't connect with them at all. One was an a$$ and rubbed me the wrong way.All in all, for now I'm DNFing. I might come back to it and try and finish. I think if this story was reworked with less dumping and more world building, it would have been better.
